The Aliento Center for Latina/o Communities has partnered with Open Door Center for Integrative Healing and the Sisters of St. Joseph’s of Orange Ministry to create a space where Aliento students can train in the community while providing the community with an affordable bilingual counseling center. Join us in helping the most marginalized in our community – especially those who are not able to access quality counseling services – while training to become the professional therapist you desire to become.
Opportunities include:
- Collaborative clinical supervision which is an extension of your learning
- See clients in an office setting, with the feel of a private practice
- Opportunities available to see clients in a school setting, and provide parenting classes and work with teens
- Weekend space available for students on Saturdays and Sundays, along with daytime hours several days of the week.
Connie Morlett will be the primary supervisor at Open Door for all Aliento students who plan to gain practicum hours and who wish to provide services in Spanish. Dr. Miguel Gallardo will most likely be providing supervision for those who wish to provide services in English.
